Welcome to the Movement!

Truth. Justice. Family.

Different Language. Same Logic.

 Welcome. I'm Tewabech Genet Stewart.

I am an Ethiopian American speaker, writer, and thought leader who spent more than two decades inside Florida's child welfare system before leaving to develop a new framework for replacing it.

My work is grounded in a simple belief:

No system built on false assumptions about human worth can ever produce justice.

While child welfare is the system I know best, the questions I ask extend far beyond it. Across many of our institutions, the language may change, but the underlying logic often remains the same.

Different Language. Same Logic.

For generations, we have inherited stories about human worth that shaped the institutions we live with today. I believe lasting change begins by telling the truth about those stories and building something better in their place.

Building something better requires more than policy reform. It requires the courage to question what we've inherited and to create systems rooted in truth instead.

That conviction led me to develop a Seven-Step Framework for replacing the current child welfare system with one that protects every child's birthright to family while increasing accountability, transparency, and support for families.

This work is not simply about identifying problems. It is about offering practical solutions that invite communities, organizations, faith leaders, policymakers, philanthropists, and business leaders to imagine and help build a different future.

Everything I do is guided by three principles:

Truth. We cannot solve problems we refuse to name honestly.

Justice. Justice requires more than good intentions. It requires systems built on truthful assumptions about human worth.

Family. Every child deserves the opportunity to grow up connected to their family, identity, culture, and community.

These principles are deeply rooted in my Christian faith and my belief that every person is created with inherent dignity and immeasurable worth.

Whether you are a policymaker, business leader, philanthropist, journalist, educator, faith leader, or someone searching for a better way, I invite you to explore these ideas with an open mind.

Read the blogs. Watch the presentations. Listen to the conversations. Challenge your assumptions. Ask difficult questions.

Real change begins with the courage to question what we've always believed. If you're ready to have those conversations and imagine something better, I invite you to join me on this journey.
